The Market Leader will leverage their passion for sales, networking, building relationships and driving new opportunities in their market. This leader will champion business issues faced by our clients and client leadership. The successful candidate will remain current on relevant business issues and have an executive presence. Humbly lead our sales team by example, putting the needs of team members above their own while effectively identifying opportunities and coaching individuals as well as the team. Use their intellectual curiosity to continuously learn while successfully modeling and encouraging our sales force to do the same.
Roles and Responsibilities:
SALES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be a rainmaker for Gibson, driving new business opportunities for all business units
- Accountable for annual new business goals for Gibson and hold Sales Team Leaders and salespeople accountable for their individual goals
- Innovate with the marketing team to develop a creative plan for obtaining new business leads and retain existing business
- Demonstrates knowledge of the markets where Gibson does business
- Assists in retaining large clients
- Work with Sales Operations to improve GRM adoption and utilization as well as quality of overall data
- Manage producers and select key accounts to achieve and exceed key business objectives
- Achieve 14% Sales Velocity (20% in Emerging Market)
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITES
- Voice of Sales to Leadership Team. Act as communication conduit between production staff and leadership.
- Lead training efforts to improve the Sightline process for Gibson’s current salesforce as well as teach new Advisers
- Strategically guide Sales Team Leaders through building annual team plans, monitoring the overall Gibson Annual Plan and assist CFO in forecasting revenue plans
- Collaborate with all departments in the organization to help the team be successful
- Source, evaluate, and recruit sales talent in collaboration with Human Resources
- Partner with our Practice Leaders to sell what we do as a company to the insurance markets
COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Give in one or more of the following ways: Time by volunteering or participating on committees, expertise on NFP and industry boards, financial support
- Be a connector by participating in business and civic activities (i.e. Chamber involvement, COI/Networking, RDA, Economic Development)
- Be visible to the market and establish brand presence for Gibson in their market and beyond
- Approach clients & prospects as peer business owners sharing our experiences, challenges, and solutions as a fellow entrepreneur
- Develops and maintains a strong personal brand in all social media and networking activities
Position Requirements- Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 10 + years’ professional experience. Experience in business to business, C-suite relationships preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (undergraduate degree)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including strong public speaking skills, small group presentation skills and one on one interpersonal interaction
- Advanced presentation skills are a must. Our business requires high level presentation internally and externally. The ability to command the attention of an audience and communicate effectively is critical to the success of this role
- Advanced sales skills required, including being a champion of new ideas and strategies
- Excellent sales management communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate
- Computer skills, including advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all written materials, communications and conversations
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity, avoiding conflicts of interest
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly or occasionally required to meet the following physical demands. To assure safety, employees in this role must be able to complete the following physical requirements.
- Continuously remains in a stationary position for long periods of time, up to 6-8 hours.
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and fingers either typing or writing.
- Occasionally move about the office to access office machinery and lift to 10 lbs. Capable of ascending/descending to different floors in case of emergency. Continuously operate a computer (6-8 hours) and other office productivity machinery such as printer/copy machine.
- May be required to work extended hours to meet client/organizational deadlines.
