Commercial Account Manager – Job Description
Position Summary
Develop, maintain, and expand client relationships through prompt, pleasant service and efficient handling of quoting, applications, claims, change requests, and client inquiries on personal lines accounts. This role is accountable for delivering high-quality client service, managing priorities effectively, ensuring accuracy in policy servicing, and supporting business growth through strong communication and cross-functional collaboration. The role is both operational and hands-on, directly executing key service and account management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership & Ownership

Own day-to-day servicing of personal lines accounts, including policy lifecycle management.

Serve as a subject matter resource for insurance products and client servicing processes.

Partner with Advisors and internal teams to align client needs with carrier solutions.
Hands-On Execution & Delivery

Market new business, organize underwriting data, and submit and follow up with carriers.

Manage renewals, review coverage accuracy, and remarket accounts as needed.

Process policy changes, proofs of insurance, and account updates in agency systems.
Reporting, Quality & Operational Support

Ensure accuracy and completeness of client and policy data in systems.

Maintain claim files and provide timely updates.

Document all client interactions and actions taken.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration

Collaborate with Advisors, underwriters, and claims teams.

Support cross-selling efforts by identifying opportunities and sharing leads.
Growth, Change & Special Initiatives

Support agency growth through client retention and cross-selling.

Participate in meetings and ongoing training to stay current on industry trends.
Process Improvement & Best Practices

Identify opportunities to improve workflows and service delivery.

Maintain knowledge of evolving insurance practices and compliance requirements.
Accountability

Deliver accurate, timely client service and account management outcomes.

Maintain high-quality data and documentation standards.

Ensure smooth execution of renewals, changes, and claims support.

Build strong, trusted client and internal relationships.
Qualifications
Required
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
-
2+ years of personal insurance experience.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
-
Pennsylvania Property & Casualty Insurance License.
Preferred

Experience with agency management systems.

Strong communication, time management, and prioritization skills.
